Teen Scene by Caylin Cleghorn
Many ideas have been brought into play this month. As the Teen Scene is growing, so are the possibilities and opportunities for teens and other citizens in our community, to get involved. Many teens, going through high school, are looking for ways to get community service hours, but do not know where to look. Badin is giving teens that opportunity. With a new Youth Leadership Committee and other events that Better Badin hosts, there are plenty of ways to participate. Whether it is “hands on,” or something a little less physical, it helps out the community and benefits your academic future. More information will be given on the Youth Leadership Committee in the coming Teen Scene excerpts. Anyone interested is welcome to attend a Better Badin meeting where citizens and members gather on the the second Monday of every month. If there are any further questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to contact me at info@visitbadin.com or contact any of our Better Badin members.

Living in Badin as a teen there are many things to experience in town as well as in the surrounding areas. Many teens enjoy spending time with friends and having fun.
In an attempt to bring more youthful activities to the Town of Badin, two of its own residents, Steve and Karen Lowder, have proposed the idea of an arcade in the old Union Hall building on Pine Street. With a snack bar and a manifold of various games, teens will enjoy a safe place to unwind and “kid around” with others their age in a place that is close to home. Karen and Steve welcome ideas or suggestions that anyone may have. If you wish to submit any ideas or contact Steve and Karen directly, please email them at: ksl129@yahoo.com.
